6. Beatles-Yellow Submarine
7. Harry Chapin-Sniper

10. The Moody Blues-Seesaw
S.D.E.C. Napulean XIV-Place Where the Nuts Hunt the Squirells

points around... I don't remember who all guessed what anymore, except that I seem to have exhausted some people's S&G and Eagles lexicons... but anyway, thought I'd post the answers before going on with my postage...

Well, let's see... next week is finals week, so... yeah, I'm pretty brain-dead right now, I had my religion final yesterday, I've got my ANTH 1000 and archaeology finals today, and finally my geology and german finals on Monday, but don't get your hopes up, I'm still not getting home until Sunday. All I have to say about my activities this week is: there's nothing quite so annoying as doing a group research paper when only one other person in the group has done a research paper before and two of the group members are trying to insist that we shouldn't have to use citations... ugh... but it's done, huzzah!

In other news, the D&D campaign (Die, Vecna, Die) that I was in is officially over... and god did that go well:
The group did actually manage to kill Vecna. Not only that but we all lived to tell the tale! We cleaned up his cronies pretty quickly while the character known only as 'hey you' took on Vecna. Mara was killed by Vecna in the very first action of combat, leaving her mark on the world in the form of a grease smear on the wall. Dat Guy (no, I'm not kidding, that's the char's name) made quick work of most of the enemies including his own, Mara's, and my own, with his numerous powerful attacks. Caleb disappeared after a heavy bout of damage by one of his opponents. Maras enemy, now in the body of his snake familiar, attacked Lil and bound her tight. Lil's enemy attacked Dat Guy in an attempt to remove him from the picture, but failed miserably. Lil layed some serious healing down on those who needed it and were still alive. Ben took out the snake, freeing Lil, and one of Caleb's. I cast Bull's Strength, mass to try to help my comrades in their attempts to kill Vecna once and for all. Vecna tried to take out Dat Guy, but only landed about half of his attacks and didn't do nearly enough to kill him. Dat Guy turned Lil's opponent into a fine red mist, then finished off the last of Caleb's opponents and turned his attention to Vecna.

It only took a few short rounds of combat ((short being 20-30 min real time)) for Hey You to figure out that we weren't really getting anywhere and activate a contingency that none of the rest of us would have considered; he allowed Vecna to strike him and turned himself into a sphere of annihilation, ending Vecna's reign of terror once and for all. We were all quite bereved at the loss of our companions... at least for a moment. Lil had me crack the rod of seven parts ((blame the GM, not me)) to true res Mara while she prayed for Hey You's soul. After what seemed like an eternity Lil looked up and declared that Lothander would not retrieve Hey You's soul, so I did a little praying of my own, being the only other divine caster in the group. I put in some time with my totem ((for those of you who don't know Kalamar, I'm a Shaman, basically a Druid who worhsips her animal companion)) who, after a little consideration, did the deed and reunited his soul with the material plane. We managed to locate and retrieve Caleb and re-entered Sigil from Vecna's fortress as a complete party.

All I have to say is... that was a blast!

Also, the Vampire campaign I'm in progresses. For the people who know V:tM I'll share some of our current events:
1. after failing an attempt at surveillance we had a guy piss on our front right tire, yell, "'Ware the moors!" at the top of his lungs, then run like hell
2. Max shot him in the back with his shotgun
3. Max decided that we should probably get the heck out of there since he'd just committed felony assault, so we did, only to look back and see the old guy chasing us on all fours... and gaining...
4. the lupines are out to get us, I swear... stupid Scotland...
5. the lupines burned down the Elysium
6. while we were in it (we're still alive only through sheer luck)
7. and it was our fault (ain't that just the kicker)
8. and now we're about to attack a Skin Walker outpost (and prolly get our rear-ends handed to us)
...
I've come to the conclusion that our chars are the red-shirts of the city... I'm sure the fact that we have two Malks has nothing to do with it at all...

In real-life current events, I'll be getting off the train in Naperville a week from Saturday, but I honestly don't know what's going on around New Year's yet... i.e. I may be in Detroit, I may be at home, who knows... other than that and Christmas itself I'm available between the 18th and the 6th...

I think that's it for now... I think... if it's not I'll just edit this, so... *shrug*... meh!

hoody hoo!

Many, many things make me happy...

less than a week before I'm in town, huzzah! I'm getting in at something like 12:30 am on Wednesday, yes, am... and leaving somewhere around noon on saturday. Sometime Friday afternoon/evening I'm being allowed to have friends over and stuff, for peoples who know them #3 and Evan are gonna be there... I'm just not sure what time yet... gotta figure that out, don't I?

I'm gonna be running a short W:tA game out here between Thanksgiving and Christmas break.

We've finally hit Christianity in my religion class... though I'd happily inflict bodily harm on the girl who keeps arguing with the prof...it could be just me, but I think he's studied a lot more than she has on the subject...

I know I aced the archaeology quiz I took yesterday, which is a beautiful, beautiful thing. I think his quizes and tests are getting easier... especially considering that there were only 6 passing grades on the first one (luckily I was one of them...)

Shotguns in Space finally updated!!!!!!!!!! did you beat some sense into them, #1? or did they do it on their own?

I think that's it for now,

linkages...

I thought I might put out a little disclaimer on my links and stuff...

anything under 'my links' is mine, feel free to peruse
anything that begins with someone's name/number is theirs, peruse, but don't blame me
most of the tons of comics I've linked are fine for all ages:
Jack is for mature audiences only! trust me
for the peoples who don't know:

  • 8-bit theater, Adventurers, Atland, l33t pixelz, Order of the Stick, Role of the Die, RPG World, and VG Cats are all gaming related, whether it be video or table-top.

  • Alien Dice, Pure, and Shivae! are all products of Shivae Studios and I highly recommend them for their amazing animal work and both fun and deep story-lines.

  • Jack is at the very least a furry comic, but it also is based in the confusing areas of heaven and hell and deals with some sensitive subjects.

  • User friendly, Ctrl-Alt-Del, GPF, and QC are all geekiy computer-y comics of various types... though Ctrl-Alt-Del also got a decent amount of video-gamey stuff in it.

  • Mows, Neko, and Two Lumps are all cat comics

  • Fox Tails, Shifters, and Werechild are all shifter comics (as the name of the middle one might imply) from various backgrounds.

  • Clan of the Cats is also a shifter comic but with a more mature base. If you have problems with Magik, Wicca, etc. don't read it, otherwise I highly recommend.

  • CRFH and Surreal U are both college comics. CRFH is short for College Roomies from Hell and to call it odd would be an understatement, but after I read it's 4th or 5th cross-over with another comic I read I had to start reading it, it's funny. Surreal U is no longer updating, but I still recommend checking it out, though I might be biased. It was written by a student here at Uwyo, he's no longer updating due to his graduation, but the archives are still worth a read.

  • Legostar Galactica, Schlock Mercenary, and Shotguns in Space are all sci-fi strips. Legostar Galactica is a spoof strip, there's no hiding it, Schlock's a fun and funny comic, and SiS is still in the works...

  • Anime Arcadia is a cute little comic about a boy who draws a cat-girl then accidentally wishes her to life and the interesting hijinks that follow.

  • Antihero For Hire is drawn by the same guy who does Adventurers, but is a modern 'super hero' story

  • Funny Farm's, well... exactly what it sounds like... and so much more...

  • Mansion of E is a fantasy setting of sorts. It can get a little confusing due to its absolutely huge cast, but it's definitely worth a read.

  • Pokémon X is a spoof of the 'newest' line of Pokémon video games, definitely worth checking out.

  • Rob and Elliot and Sam and Fuzzy are both hard to explain, you'll just have to read them and see for yourself.

  • If you read German feel free to check out the German-language strips. Benutzer Freundlich is just User Friendly in German and 'OotS auf Deutsch' is the same for Order of the Stick.

The Please! movie short is a 15 min film which I highly recommend. It's a relatively serious film, but the acting's great.

*skips a whole bunch that don't really need explaining*

Seiyo No Shorin-Ryu Karate and Kabudo Kai is the official site for my new style of martial arts... envy me!

I think that's all the ones I need to explain... if there are any others you care to ask about, feel free...

    argh...

Y'know... it's not that I don't like my roommate... she's nice enough and all, but really can it be so hard to be just a little quiet when one gets up? Or to not put on a second set of music or turn on a second TV? Good grief!

I do enjoy her company, it's just blatantly obvious that she's never shared a room before. And if she were just getting up for her 8 am and being a little loud it wouldn't bother me because I do need to start getting up earlier and I know it, but she's getting up at frickin' 5 am to go run with a friend and not managing to open and close her closet/drawers even somewhat quietly. This morning was particularly bad, hence the rant. She gets back from running at 6:30 and turns on the frickin' TV while I'm trying to sleep... if I'm lucky she doesn't turn on the light. When it comes right down to it, I like her and all, but I really hope she's allowed to move into the tri-delt house next semester so that Karen can move in with me. Who's Karen, you ask?

There's supposed to be a piccy here... tell me there's not...

That's Karen, with the pumpkin we carved.

Check out the link to Jack in my sidebar, it's a good read.

... I think I've run out of rant... for now... mwahahahahaha!!!

    School

You know... I thought that since it's Friday and I won't have to deal with actual classes for a couple days, I'd tell y'all about what I'm doing. I'm currently enrolled in 17 credit hours this semester and another 17 next semester (yes, I'm a freshie who's already registered for Spring classes, God bless the CLA program).

    Right now I'm enrolled in:
ANTH 1000: Intellectual Communities in Anthropology (3)
ANTH 1300: Introduction to Archaeology (3)
    GEOL 1100: Physical Geology (4)
    GERM 2030: 2nd Year German II (4)
    and
RELI 1000: Introduction to Religion (3)
    for this semester and
ANTH 1100: Introduction to Physical Anthropology (4)
ANTH 1200: Introduction to Cultural Anthropology (3)
ENGL 1010: Collegiate Composition/Rhetoric (aka Freshman Composition) (3)
    GERM 2140: German Literature (3)
    MATH 2205: Calculus II (4)
    for next semester.

    Right now I'm in classes from 12-3 MWF, 11-4 TR, and 8-9 F, as strange as that sounds, and next sememster I'll be in classes 9-1;3-4 M, 1:20-2:30;4-5:30 T, 11-1;3-4 W, 11-12;1:20-2:30;4-5:30 R, and 11-1;3-4 F.

In addition to that I eat dinner with the same people every day at 5, I've got a V:tM game from 10-midnight or so on Fridays, a D&D game from 6-10 pm or so on Sundays, and Seiyo No Shorin-Ryu Karate and Kabudo Kai (aka karate) 7-9 MTR.

I passed my first Kyu (belt) test with the Shorin-Ryu group so I'm officially Hachikyu (8th Kyu) or yellow belt. I'm hopefully going to be participating in the Cowboy State Games in February for forms and sparring. This'll be Shorin-Ryu's first year attending so my prior sparring experience is greatly appreciated.

I'm pleased to say that right now I'm passing all my classes as of mid-terms and I like my profs and my advisor. I'll post pics of peoples at some point, but I haven't taken them yet, but once I do, I promise you'll get to see what my new accomplices look like.

    I Be Here

Hey, I be here, as the title says. I don't know how often I'll be posting or anything, but I'll try to keep important stuff up-to-date. For those of you who don't know, I'll be heading home over Thanksgiving and I hope to see a lot of people, but we'll see what time allows.

So far life's been going well out here in Laramie. I've got a good roommate and an even better one lined up for next year. I'm bumming around in 2 different games, one's a D&D campaign called Die, Vecna, Die!, which so far has been interesting to say the least, seeing as we just hit 21st level gestalted, but since this campaign's designed to kill the characters the fact that we only have one PC death so far is amazing. I'm a Shaman/Basirian Dancer... and honestly I don't know how to deal with the higher-than-twenty-levels-thing because I was trained that no character should ever get that high. We're currently spread throughout Sigil right now and any advice that might be lent would be appreciated since it's one of the few worlds I don't have any experience with.

The other game's a fun Vampire: the Maquerade game, there's not quite as much to it but it's still a blast. I'm playing one of two Malkavians in the group (it's not my fault I swear)... and oddly enough it's the Tzimisce who keeps getting into trouble with the council.

I'll post more later, I'm on a laptop and the battery's about to conk out on me.
